The Hebrew year 5787 has began at sunset on Friday, September 11, 2026, with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year’s Day (1 Tishrei 5787).
This New Year is the year 5787 is being called the Year of the Sword, In Hebrews 4:12 it says: For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword — piercing right through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. No creature is hidden from Him, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
The spiritual atmosphere is shifting. The body of Christ cannot afford to sleep through what comes next. As the biblical calendar is now in the Hebrew year 5787 and the fall feasts approach, a prophetic alarm is sounding about what could be one of the most consequential spiritual transitions of the coming decade. “I really feel like this shift is going to be the most, probably, powerful shift for the next 10 years,” Landry said in a recent prophetic message. His message for 5787 can be summed up in two potent words: covenant completion. Seven is connected with completion, covenant, and fulfillment. He also points to the Hebrew letter zayin and its association with a sword—an image he believes carries tremendous prophetic weight for the season ahead.
“The Lord’s given me … that He wants to put a sword in our mouth,” Landry said. This isn’t about Christians becoming louder, angrier, or more argumentative; quite the opposite. God must deal with the heart before He can entrust greater authority to the mouth. Words carry spiritual consequences, and if believers are going to speak with boldness in the coming season, their hearts must first be aligned with the Word of God. This preparation becomes even more critical considering the warning about what 5787 could bring. He believes judgment is coming into the world while God simultaneously raises up what he calls a “remnant inside the remnant,” made up of believers prepared to stand as watchmen and boldly proclaim what God desires amid increasing darkness.
Landry specifically pointed toward Israel and the Middle East, arguing that the turmoil surrounding Israel and its relationships with the United States and other nations cannot be separated from the biblical issue of covenant. In other words, this is no season for spiritual spectators. Landry says preparation for what comes next follows a distinct progression: identity, authority, and assignment. Before believers can understand what they have been called to do, they must understand who they are in Christ. Identity produces authority, and authority opens the door to walking confidently in divine assignment.
Landry outlined five expectations for the fall feasts: 1. Listen and respond when the Lion of Judah roars; 2. Allow the shofar to awaken you from complacency; 3. Remember your identity in Christ; 4. Walk in the authority and assignment flowing from that identity; 5. And when God speaks, obey. “The goal of awakening isn’t simply greater revelation,” Landry said. “When God speaks, His people are called to listen, align, speak, and obey.”
But perhaps Landry’s most explosive declaration concerns what may be waiting on the other side of the painful preparation many believers have endured. “We are moving into that time of it shall come to pass,” he said. “We are moving into a time of acceleration. We are moving into a time where suddenlies are going to happen.” That changes the perspective on the battle. Landry describes us just coming out of a season of 5786, which was a season in which God dealt intensely with humanity, mindsets, and the condition of the soul. What felt like relentless correction, he says, was not punishment; it was preparation.
Now comes the call to maturity. The season of merely hearing prophetic words must give way to responding to them. The shofar is sounding. The Lion of Judah is roaring. 5787 will not be a year for believers to retreat into complacency. It will be a year to listen, align, speak, and obey.
