Daily Prophetic Words Of God

“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure’; “I declared the former things long ago and they went forth from My mouth, and I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass” (Isaiah 46:9,10). He is the God of prophecy.

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation.  For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.  (2 Peter 1:20-21)

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.  (Amos 3:7)

Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it.  (Revelation 1:3)

A Verse A Day

1 Kings 19:3-7 Elijah was afraid, so he got up and fled for his life to Beer Sheba in Judah. He left his servant there, while he went a day’s journey into the desert. He went and sat down under a shrub and asked the Lord to take his life: “I’ve had enough! Now, O Lord, take my life. After all, I’m no better than my ancestors.” He stretched out and fell asleep under the shrub. All of a sudden an angelic messenger touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked and right there by his head was a cake baking on hot coals and a jug of water. He ate and drank and then slept some more. The Lord’s angelic messenger came back again, touched him, and said, “Get up and eat, for otherwise you won’t be able to make the journey.” Elijah overhears a conversation between Ahab and Jezebel, and learns that Jezebel now seeks to kill him. Elijah is in a moment of despair and prays that God would take his life. God's response is to have an angel visit and miraculously provide some bread and water, in preparation for a journey. We must be careful in judging those who feel they don't have the strength to live on. Elijah does well in pouring out his heart to God, and that confession and vulnerability is good! Even though Elijah may have been in despair, he does not take his life into his own hands. Instead he places it into God's once more, communicating complete trust in the sovereignty of God.
